The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today issued the Q3 Motor Industry Review of 2017 in association with DoneDeal, along with the SIMI official October 172 registration statistics.

The review outlined that new car sales in for the first nine months of 2017 (totalled 128,578) declined by 10.2% when compared to new cars sold during the same period of 2016. Used imports remain a significant feature of the market so far in 2017, with imports 37.7% (70,821) ahead of the first nine months of 2016.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today released their official statistics for the month of May, showing that new car registrations were down -8% (5,991) compared to (6,449) May 2016, while new cars registrations year to date are down -10% (89,791) on the same period last year (99,704).

Official statistics released today by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show that new car registrations for the month of March were -7.49% (19,916) compared to (21,529) March 2016, while new cars registrations year to date are down  -8.28% (75,967 ) on the same period last year (82,824). 

Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) show an -8.41% (3,116) decrease on March 2016 (3,402) and year to date are -10.66% (13,414). While Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HGV) are also -3.49% for the month of March (304) compared to the same month last year (315) and is -2.74% year to date.

Official statistics released today by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show that new car registrations were down 14% (1,449) last month when compared to June 2014 (1,684). However, new car registrations for the first six months of the year are currently up 25% (82,337) on the same period last year.
