The Minimum Competency Code sets out the minimum standard required by law for persons providing advice on or arranging financial products for consumers. Persons or entities who fail to meet the minimum standard required by the Code will not be permitted to provide advice to consumers on retail financial products, such as Payment Protection Insurance or to arrange retail financial products for consumers.

(A special rate for members of €265, if payment is received by SIMI  in advance for both sessions - 11 hours).

Who this course is for: Any qualified garage technician/motor mechanic who is required to diagnose and repair faults on Common Rail Systems (CRS)   This course will introduce to the trainee the common rail concept and provide information regarding system diagnosis and safety procedures. The trainee will gain valuable in depth knowledge of the hydraulic and electronic system functions and fault diagnosis processes using the latest equipment available, such as KTS and ESItronic information. Use will also be made of oscilloscopes to provide visual interpretation and analysis of various signals.

  • Introduction to Common Rail systems
  • Low Pressure Fuel System
  • High Pressure Generation & Control
  • Specific System Components
  • MV & Piezo injector function
  • CR Injector Analysis
  • Additional KTS System Testing
  • Emission Control Devices

Prerequisites: The minimum prerequisites for this course are the successful completion of training on Essential Test Procedures for Electrical Systems Fault Diagnosis or similar. Delegates should be experienced in typical oscilloscope & diagnostic tester operation.
