About Aftersales

The Aftersales Department is a significant contributor to the overall profitability of a dealership in providing a high standard of service to customers when carrying out servicing, repairs or warranty work on their vehicles. Workshop Managers, Service Advisors and the Aftersales Management team play a key role in delivering excellent customer satisfaction and ensuring customer retention and future sales.

About Technical Roles - Family of Trades

There are five types of Automotive Apprenticeships – Automotive Technicians, Vehicle Body Repairs, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Agricultural Mechanics and Construction Plant Fitting.

An Automotive Technician is a skilled technician who services, diagnoses and resolves technical concerns with light passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

A Vehicle Body Repairer repairs damage to the bodywork of cars, trucks and coaches, ranging from scratches, dents and rust to major accident damage. 

Heavy vehicle mechanics carry out routine servicing and repair on commercial vehicles such as trucks/trailers, vans, jeeps, buses and coaches and prepares the vehicle for the Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test (CVRT).

Agricultural Mechanics are concerned with fault-finding, repair, overhaul and maintenance of farm tractors and farm machinery.

A Construction Plant Fitter is a skilled technician who services, diagnoses and resolves technical concerns in mobile equipment used in materials handling for the off-road and on-road construction, excavation, mining, forestry and waste management industries

About Part Sales & Parts Wholesales

This is an important role in the operation of any dealership or parts retailer. You are the face of the company for many customers and you will perform a variety of duties relating to customer service, promoting, advertising, marketing, stocking in relation to the sale and delivery of parts and accessories.

About Finance & Accounting

You will administer, prepare and interpret financial information and accounts and have an understanding of Motor Industry VAT & VRT. In addition, you will provide a support service to senior financial management personnel and other members of senior management in Sales and Aftersales.

About Administration

You are the friendly and professional face to customers whilst providing efficient, administrative support to staff.

About Vehicle Sales

A Vehicle Salesperson assists and advises customers in the selection and purchase of new and used vehicles, using their in-depth knowledge of the company’s range of vehicles to find the right vehicle for each customer. They may also work with the Finance/Business Manager to develop sales agreements for customers and negotiate the purchase of trade-in vehicles.

About HR & Recruitment

Working in Human Resources, you will ensure that employees are ready to meet the company’s objectives by providing support to them throughout their career development. You may also be responsible for helping to source candidates for various roles within an organisation, maintaining employee records in line with Employment Legislation and providing advice to management on employee-related issues.

About Marketing & Communications

You will liaise with department managers to develop sales strategies to help maximise profits by promoting products and services through online and offline methods of communication with customers.each customer. They may also work with the Finance/Business Manager to develop sales agreements for customers and negotiate the purchase of trade-in vehicles.
