This course is for all technicians and workshop supervisors employed in the Motor Industry, who require the knowledge and skills to be able to remove and replace deactivated HV components from Hybrid and Electric Vehicles safely. As they increase in popularity, automotive technicians will become more involved in the servicing and repair of these vehicles.
This Award is designed for employed motor vehicle professionals who maintain and repair HEV technologies, including the hybrid or electric drive system itself. The course content, compiled by Bosch, contains the knowledge required to diagnose problems and work safely around a vehicles high voltage systems whilst carrying out repairs or replacement. It is NOT for anyone desiring to work with ‘Live High Voltage'.
Course Content
Prerequisites
The IMI require applicants to hold vehicle maintenance & repair knowledge and skills at Level 2. Candidates must complete some pre-learning before attending this course, using material supplied by Bosch on course booking. This will be assessed during the course and via an online test.
Attainment
This qualification is the complete IMI Level 3 Award in Electric and Hybrid Vehicle. Repair and Replacement (Ref: 603/1468/0).
On completion of this qualification, technicians will have gained knowledge and skills of high voltage component replacement. Successful candidates completing the IMI online test of VSH 267 will be certificated by IMI Ltd.
