Q1 New Electric Car Registrations up 49%

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today released their official 231 new vehicle registrations statistics for March. New car registrations for the month of March were up 37% (17,676) when compared to March 2022 (12,907). Registrations year to date are up 16.5% (58,116) on the same period last year (49,905). Light Commercial vehicles (LCV) are up 71.4% (3,453) compared to March last year (2,015) and year to date are up 24% (11,587). HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) registrations are also showing an increase of 26.4% (273) in comparison to March 2022 (216). Year to date HGV's are up 42.6% (964).

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today released their official 231 new vehicle registrations statistics for February. New car registrations for the month of February were up 9.9% (13,161) when compared to February 2022 (11,971). Registrations year to date are up 9.4% (40,476) on the same period last year (36,985).

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today released their official 231 new vehicle registrations statistics for January. New car registrations for the month of January were up 9.4% (27,364) when compared to January 2022 (25,014). Light Commercial vehicles (LCV) are up 10.1% (5,559) compared to January last year (5,051). HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) registrations are also showing an increase of 52.5% (424) in comparison to January 2022 (278).
